One more lawn mower, please

We weren’t too busy this week, okay maybe we were busy, just not too exciting…did a few things this week that Kamden loves.
Mowed the lawn, went to the water park, fixed the lawn mower, went on a bike ride, rode around on the lawn mowing pretending to mow, went to the go-cart races, sat on the lawn mower wishing the lawn would grow so we could mow. Get the drift?!? This kid is absolutely infatuated with lawn mowers. He wants a new push mower and a new riding mower for his birthday, which mind you we need neither! We were at a garage sale on Saturday and there was a mower in the garage, typically we see mowers at garage sales, which is fine by me cause he stands there mesmerized while I look around. For some odd reason he truly wanted this one!
“Mom that lawn mower is a John Deere.”
“Yes Kamden that is a John Deere”
“Its like mine at home”
“Yep kinda like yours at home”
“We should take that one home”
“Kamden its not for sale, besides we don’t need another lawn mower”
“Yes I do, can you get it for my birthday?”
“No Kamden we are not getting that lawn mower, now come on lets go”
“Mom can I just sit on that lawn mower”
“No Kamden, lets go, that lawn mower is not for sale”
Then the lady speaks up as Kamden starts to whine, “I don’t mind if he just sits on it.” She doesn’t have a clue what she just said. This kid would sit there for days. I wanted to say, “Well he’s yours, I will be back in a few hours to see if he is done sitting, you agreed to let him sit, I agree to leave him with you.” Instead I said, “Thanks but that’s okay.” Then look at Kamden and say “now come on we got to get going.” So I picked him as he is whining, looking back at that dang lawn mower just wishing he could have sat on it.
Were heading home some 4 hours later and he wakes up from a dead sleep, first thing he says “Momma that lady said I could sit on her lawn mower, you didn’t let me.” Great I probably won’t hear the end of this one for weeks!!
****Notice the snowboots in the second photo, who cares if its 80+ degrees out, when mowing the lawn you need boots. Gosh, moms don't know nothing!****

Kahne is so naughty....

See that face...yeah that cute little sad face...something is inside that little head telling him to do mean things. Seriously, I know something tells him to do evil stuff.
I cannot count on one hand how many times this weekend he took something; a toy car, a fork, a book, anything in his hands, and hit his brother over the head with it. Absolutely no reasons behind it, just whap, take that….and then he ran away as fast as he possible could. Poor Kamden cries over everything so of course he starts bawling, then we have to spank Kahne and he starts bawling….and they both sit there bawling! And we start to question our sanity, start to go down the list of who we could give these monsters to, think about packing up and running away.
But then that little face…and this one too....

They keep us around….and we wouldn’t trade a minute of it.
Kamden either, those hits to the head really make him mad, but his love for his brother is so very evident.

What to expect when calling your mother.....

This is a real phone conversation I had with my mother the other day…no jokes. And you wonder how I turned out remotely sane….really I must give all that credit to my dad.

Me: What are you doing?
Mom: I’m hiding out.
Me: What? Hiding out from what?
Mom: The neighbor lady.
Me: What…Why are you hiding out from the neighbor lady?
Mom: Cause she won’t quit cussing me out?
Me: (totally confused, not that I am not normally confused with her) Why is she cussing you out?
Mom: I don’t know she just does that.
Me: That makes no sense, she just randomly cusses you out. Are you guys arguing over something?
Mom: No she just comes out and starts cussing me.
Me: Really? I have a hard time believing that one….
Mom: No jokes, I have to be quiet now…she might see I am out again. I’m bout to go over there and blow her up.
Me: Blow her up, with what? Are you okay?
Mom: Yeah but she is bout not to be.
Me: (getting frustrated) Okay really mom whats going on, people don’t just randomly start cussing at you…what happened to start this.
Mom: No she really does that…I got to go..she is going to hear me.
Me: Who cares if she hears you….you make no sense……
The phone goes dead.
She hangs up…..
Me too frustrated to call her back…not knowing if I really care to call her back…wait 2 hours, call back…see if she has blown up the neighbor…heck maybe they are best friends now, sharing coffee on the porch…
Call back in 2 hours and its almost as if she doesn’t remember the conversation….
Me: So how are things now?
Mom: Good, what did you do today?
Me: No, how is the situation with your neighbor?
Mom: Okay.
Me: What happened?
Mom: Oh nothing.
Me: What do you mean nothing?!?
URG…..like pulling teeth….is she silly or what?!?
*I guess the neighbor lady gets drunks and my anxiety stricken mother doesn’t handle it well…..not sure the details of the situation….but every other week or so, my mom is on a mission to blow up the neighbor or move..….I hope she takes the ladder of the two.

My muscle aches

Did you know you could pull/strain muscles while riding down waterslides? Yeah, well neither did I. But I guess that’s exactly what I did. I was up all night Tuesday night in so much pain I thought I was going to die. Finally at 3am I could not take it anymore and came to ER. Come to find out I have pulled my stomach and rectal muscles and they are spasming….which hurts!! Not a lot they could do. They gave me a shot to ease the pain for the day so I could get some relief, but said expect the spasms to return. Just what I wanted to hear!
He gave me a couple of prescriptions to “help out” and told me it will have to heal like any pulled muscle and could take about 10 days. I just so hope I can sleep. I don’t function well without sleep!
She went to give me the shot and said "this could be a little uncomfortable." Well what shot isn't uncomfortable when they put it in your behind.
Anyways....its been a few days and it has definately gotten a little better....thank goodness.
Note to self...Be less tense when going down waterslides....being all tensed up, thinking you are going to get killed on those things could cause you to pull muscles.....the pain afterwards isn't worth it.....Just let loose and go down the dang slide.......After all there are 2 year olds going down in front of you, you are 26 for crying out loud!!

Pictures from the Dells

Water Park

Matt Party

Weekend in the dells...

We went to the dells this past weekend, with hesitation as Kamden woke up Saturday morning at 2 with a horrible high fever complaining of his throat. For those of you that don’t know he has had mono for about a month now so we assumed it was just a flare up of that. We keep the Tylenol in him every 4 hours exactly and away we went. He was such a trooper, although you could tell he felt bad, but made sure he had a good time.
We got there Saturday pretty early and played at the waterpark at our hotel all day. Jason’s cousins kid Troy had came along so him and Jason enjoyed some of the bigger slides that me and Kamden thought were just too much. We went and watched the stock car races in the dells Saturday night.
Sunday we spent the day at the Dells speedway for the annual Matt Kenseth fan club party. It was a lot of fun, but oh so hot in the sun all day. We waited it out to the very end and were able to get pictures with Matt and autographs—the highlight of the day!
Monday we “slept in” (yes 730 is sleeping in) and then enjoyed the waterpark til midday and headed home. Monday, Kamden and myself both decided those slides weren’t too bad after all and up and down we went at least 50 times. (it was 96 steps from the bottom to the top so we for sure got our exercise in)
We got to grandmas to get Kahne and I think Kamden couldn’t have been happier! I thought I was going to be the one terrible sad with leaving Kahne overnight for a few nights….but Kamden proved he loves his little brother way much….He constantly reminded us that Kahne was not with and “that naughty grandma, shouldn’t have kept my baby Kahne”. Kahne was equally happy to see Kamden.
Kamdens fever had never really went away all weekend….I had just doctored it with the Tylenol, so we went for a visit on Tuesday afternoon to discover the poor child had been battling strep all weekend along with his mono. We got an antibiotic in him to get rid of that…and hopefully before he passes it to anyone else. (I was the one that gave it to him as I got it on Wednesday ☹ )
Anyways long, fun weekend… I will try to post pictures soon. I am still trying to get all rested up and recovered from going, going, going.

Welcome!

So after comtemplating this blog thing for a bit and having a horrible hard time keeping up with sending out long overdue letters to friends and family......I give you the daily life of the Johnsons...okay so maybe not daily...that would for sure be asking too much of me....but maybe weekly...thats a good goal, I'll shoot for weekly.

But welcome...welcome to my little space. I hope to keep long distance friends and even the local ones updated on my boys with charming boy stories and more photos than you probably wish to see.
