Neglecting.....

Neglecting….
So have you noticed I have been neglecting this blog……with good reason too…just lack of things to blog about.
We have been busy….. …but busy doing boring family stuff.

Bumper, our kitty of more than 5 years, is going to be gone soon. We’re pretty sad, but its time. He was such a good kitty up until the last year. For sure he has always been very temperamental and there are people he just doesn’t care for, but he was alright. We liked him, we still do. But for the last year he has gotten wild….if you so much as crack the door open, he is out. The outside wildlife doesn’t work so well for a kitty with no claws….he has received lots of battle wounds. Causing him to be a cone head for most of the last year of his life. And recently he has resorted to biting….anyone other than us four that live with him in his home. If you don’t live at our house your free game for him. We can’t have this…we can’t have him continuing to get outside, get all beat up, come back in bloody, and bite our friends. Although we love Bumper a lot, we are slightly excited about being animal free for a bit.

On to other news, we recently acquired the title of quitters. Yep we are quitters.
We signed Kamden up for hockey and went one night and quit!
He hated it…He cried the entire time, would not get out on the ice, wanted to go to the stands and watch or go home. No extra curricular activity is worth that struggle.
He loves it when we play at home in the driveway—roller blades, stick and puck. But we took him to the rink and the ice was not for him.
It was also an expensive lesson learned, that one night as spectators at the hockey rink is going to cost us way more than we had hoped for!

Favorite Foto Friday

Wow..going through old pictures and trying to narrow down a favorite and trying to not let it be one child over the next or more favorite pictures of one over the next is really tough, not to mention quite time consuming!!
Here is a one about a year old from June of 2006....Kahne was just barely over a month old. Kamden loved every chance he got to hold his brother....but would usually hold him for about 3 seconds and ask you to "Get that baby"

Finally got a moment to add some pictures from Kamdens birthday party on Saturday. He had so much fun and was exhausted by the end of the day. It was actually horrible hot and humid out....I guess we can't complain thats better then freezing, and to get such a warm day for a October birthday is great!

Kamden,
Today you turn 4 years old! Happy Birthday!!
I am very excited but sad all at the same time. You’re definitely growing up too fast. This past year you have learned and developed so much. You make me and your daddy so proud. You have your trying moments, and you get your time-outs but all in all you’re a pretty darn good kid. We hope your fourth year is just as fun as your last 3 have been.
We love you so much. We hope you have lots of fun at your “Matt” party on Saturday…we know you have been waiting all year!

Today my first born turns 4. That’s pretty big. And its kinda hard for me to swallow.
Before you know it he will no longer think his parents are cool, he will think he should drive something other than those battery operated toys, and then he will be gone…..
Okay slow down…one day at a time, one day at a time.
Regardless….its not easy to accept. I like him little, I like him fun, I like him just like he is…..but I am sure he will be just as much fun at 4.
We have a big “Matt” party planned for Saturday…….he has talked about his birthday coming up all year, so needless to say he is excited. I hope the weather is nice and warm and he can really enjoy his day.
I am sure I will have many pictures of the day for you!

The things he says....

As Kamden was taking a dump the other night, he starts screaming for me to come help him wipe his butt.
I yell back, “I am busy, besides you can do it yourself.”
“No, mom I need your help this time now.”
URG….he does this cause he would sometimes prefer us to do it…why I am not sure…so I go in there, shirtless as I was in the process of changing into my night clothes.
“So stand up Kamden so I can wipe you.”
“Mom, why you got your boobs on?” as he is standing up.
“Just stand up, it’s not my boobs it’s my bra Kamden”
“No its not, it’s your boobs.”
“Whatever Kamden, now stand up, get your pants up and wash your hands.”
So he does all that and I am washing my hands as he walks out of the bathroom, he turns to look at me once more….he has to get the last word in ya know.
“It is your boobs mom.”
This kid….he is definitely his fathers son!
